LUNCH TALKNumbers Games by Abigail Doperak / Senior Sports connect the world. It is a common tie we all share. The rush of competition. The wave of adrenaline. The need to win. For most, sports is used as an outlet to release any stress or tension. It is a safe spot. Yet, that does not stay true for all ages. This is why we see a dramatic decrease in the number of high school sport participants. Derry Area High School is fortunate to be able to provide students with fifteen total sport options throughout the year, but is this too many for the number of athletes we actually have? Participation in sports is a staple for an elementary school student. Whether it be soccer, teeball, or ballet, sports dominate the realm of after school activity. The Derry Area School District is no exception. READ MORE TODAY'S QUOTE"I Wish She Was My Wife" James Michael Tyler, best known as the coffee shop manager Gunther on the hit show "Friends," died peacefully at his home on Sunday, according to his representative Toni Benson. He was 59. from ScreenRant: Gunther was in love with Rachel throughout the entire series and it provided so many moments of fantastic comedy. One of the best comes when his inner dialogue is spoken out loud for the audience to hear as he delivers coffee to the group. Firstly, he questions what she sees in Ross, and then smells Rachel's hair, thinking, "I love Rachel. I wish she was my wife." It's a hilarious moment as it's the first time he openly admits this, even if it's in his own head. TODAY'S NUMBER: 103On a cold and rainy night that was dedicated to the seniors, freshman Revoir led the Trojans with 103 rushing yards on nine attempts, boosted by a 42-yard scramble up the middle after scooping up a loose ball. Even though the Trojans lost to Burrell, 43-13, the future surely is bright for the blue and gold. AND FINALLY...No Sid? No Malkin? No Problem.
