This is a sad, funny, yet lovable book that pulls on all the emotions. This was my First book I've read in a reading class and I told my teacher, “I feel like crying today.” It definitely made me cry...many times. I know some people do not like sad books but this book isn't just sad there are many funny parts that will make you giggle a little.
The book is a lot like musicals but without the music. The musical can really tug on your heart strings with the way the music was written. The book captures all the elements the music could and more. The way Steven Levenson, Benj Pasek, Val Emmich, Justin Paul- the authors- word this book you can feel how Evan is feeling throughout the book. If you like a good cry and a good laugh read Dear Evan Hansen. TERYN NUTTALL / Freshman
Saw is a very gruesome movie franchise created by Australian film makers, James Wan and Leigh Whannell. There are nine Saw movies in total with one that just came out; “Saw Spiral”, with a rumor saying there could be a tenth movie being made. The first movie was made on October 29th, 2004 with a runtime of 1h 43m and the box office being 103.9 million usd. Fun fact: The whole movie was made in one room which astonishes me because I thought they used these different settings to make the movie feel more detailed and real, but they just used one singular room. That's just insane to me. The movie begins with a man named Adam Stanheight played By Leigh Whannell, and oncologist Lawrence Gordon played by Cary Elwes, and both of these guys show up in the sequels as well. Adam wakes up in a bathtub and after he calls out confused in the darkness and across from him is the doctor Gordon, and each guy has a leg chained to a pipe. Then there is just a dead body in the middle of the room who died of an inflicted gunshot to the head with a gun in one hand holding a tape player. Both of the guys have little tapes in their pockets but Gordon also has a bullet and a key. You can already expect the key doesn't work on the chains so they play the tapes. Adam’s tape tells him it's time for him to act instead of just watch, Gordon’s tape tells him he has to kill Adam before six or his wife and daughter will have to die. It also explains how the dude who shot himself was super poisoned, and if Gordon doesn't kill Adam he'll be left in the bathroom to rot. The movie goes back and forth between the bathroom boys and crime scenes with jigsaw victims that mostly died except one. Amanda Young is a woman who survived a jigsaw trap that was the reverse bear trap. She also appears in the sequels a lot. I'm just gonna pick at a couple things about these movies that I love so much. Amanda Young was such a good actor in this movie and she deserved to be in the sequels, so did the bathroom boys. Each movie has a connection to the last very well and how things escalated. Each movie usually picks up where it left off or shows where things left off in the previous movie. That's what I love about it. Sometimes the flashbacks are kinda confusing but unique. I recommend watching the Saw movies despite their stigmas. The movie's concept is escaping crazy traps by working together or by dying and betrayal. ADDYSON GUSTAFSON / Freshman
Their fourth album Titled “Four” was released on November 17, 2014. It has A total of 12 tracks on the album and it has a run time of 43:33. This album and their other album titled “ Made in the A.M” are very different from their first 3 albums, In the way the songs sound and the album seems more “grown- up”, then the other albums they have. The genre of music on this album is under pop and pop rock.
This album is my personal favorite album they have. There isn't a song on the album I don't like but my favorite songs off the album are titled “Fireproof”, “ Fools Gold”, and “ NIght Changes”. Overall, I rate this album a 5/5 and If you have the chance I think you should listen to the album. TERYN NUTTALL / Freshman
I like how the movie does so great going into details and making the scenes terrifying and creepy. I don't understand how Michael Myers can drive if he escaped at twenty one but has been in a mental hospital since six.
When Michael starts to find a victim named Laurie, she finds him stalking her behind a bush, she gets to the bush but he isn't there it's like he vanished. It happens exactly again when she gets to a window she sees him staring at her while behind behind laundry that's hung up to dry. It’s a creepy detail that is a little illusion to your mind because he just disappears like some magic trick. Another Scene happens but I love this one. A guy named Bob and his girlfriend, Linda, are at her house. Bob goes downstairs to get a drink from the fridge but then Michael Myers pops out of nowhere and picks up Bob with one hand. He throws him up to the wall with one hand. Although the scene is a little gruesome it played out pretty well. The way it felt and seemed so realistic scares me. I suppose it was so great they made so many more Halloween movies and one coming out shortly for 2021. I recommend Watching at least one Halloween movie to get the creeped out feeling and not being able to sleep. The movie got 3 nominations for being such a good movie, so definitely watch it for yourself. |
