Girls are sked to wear light blue and boys are asked to where gray. Rain date is October 1. 2. Cross Country SplitsThe Derry Area boys and girls Cross Country teams both defeated Yough, but fell to Greensburg Salem at Greensburg Salem. The boys defeated Yough 16-44, one point away from a clean sweep. The boys were led for the 2nd week in a row by senior Morgan Sobota in 20:31, he was followed by fellow senior Blake Cecchini in 21:00. Next in was Jake Watson in 21:17. Freshman Logan Corbett beat out Yough's first man in 22:42. Sophomore Seth Swisher (23:21) and Freshman Gael Gonzalez-Kelly (24:34) also competed in the victory. The girls defeated Yough 15-50, a clean sweep, turning in seasons-best times for almost all girls. They were led by freshman Jane Huss in 21:50. She was followed by fellow freshman Mikah Horwat in 23:30. Senior captain Emma Huber ran a seasons-best of 24:22. Sophomore Charity Peterman took over a minute off of her lifetime best in 25:24. The Trojan Golf Team is one round away from a three-peat, and for the second time in the past three years they look to share the top spot in Section 2AA with Greensburg Central Catholic. The Trojans captured the title last year but didn’t have to share it. It would be the fourth section title in five years.
The team took one more step closer by defeating the visiting Geibel Gators 202-304. Leading the way was junior Hunter Jurica with an even par 36, followed by Ashton Beighley and Nick Thomas at 39. Jonathan Hugus came in with 41, while William Hugus carded a 47. THIS WEEK'S PODCASTLUNCH TALK
