1. Girls Basketball Defeats East AlleghenyThe Lady Trojans basketball team won an important section game last night 43-35. The game was close and at the end of 3 quarters the score was tied 26-26. The Lady Trojans erupted for 17 fourth quarter points while holding EA to only 9. Hannah Wedow led the scoring with 15 points, Kamryn Kelly had 13 rebounds and Tiana Moracco had 6 steals. 2. LUNCH TALKCamille Schrier, a student at Virginia Commonwealth who advocates for drug safety, was crowned Miss America 2020 on Thursday night at the Mohegan Sun Earth Expo & Convention Center in Uncasville, Connecticut. Schrier, who gave a chemistry demonstration on hydrogen peroxide during the talent competition, was crowned by 2019 Miss America Nia Franklin from New York. The new Miss America told the crowd during introductions that she plans to get a doctor of pharmacy degree at VCU, in Richmond, Virginia. She has undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and systems biology from Virginia Tech.
