Both the boys and girls Cross Country teams will be competing. 2. All-Section Golf Members AnnouncedCongratulations to freshmen Antonio Hauser & Hunter Jurica; junior Ryan Bushey, and seniors, Devin Sheffler and Aidan Bushey, who were honored by the WPIAL Section 2AA Coaches as All-Section Team members at Linden Hall resort last evening. Aidan was also voted Section MVP by the Section Coaches. Aidan is only the second DA Trojan to receive this honor, and he has been recognized as an All-Section Team member for three consecutive years. 3. 1. Zumba Dance Party
There will be a Derry Area High School Prom Fundraiser in the form of a Zumba Dance Party, Saturday, November 2nd at 2:00 in the High School Auxiliary Gym. Everyone is welcome and no membership or registration is required.
The class will be led by certified Zumba instructors including Kristy Shearman, Valerie Palko, and Derry Area Math teacher, Mrs. Kemmerer. It is $5 per person - as all proceeds will go towards Prom. 2. Mu Alpha Theta Meeting
The next Mu Alpha Theta meeting is today, Wednesday, Oct 23rd from 3-4pm in Mrs. Kemmerer's room, H422.
3. Jim Borden Memorial Scholarship
Each year, the Trib Total Media will select one Western Pennsylvania student to receive up to $30,000 in Scholarship funds awarded in annual installments of up to $7,500 each. The recipient also will receive a summer internship at Trib Total Media and, upon graduation, an offer for full-time employment.

Today will be the fifth consecutive day in a row of the teachers strike in Chicago that is affecting around 300,000 students. The Union and city officials are playing the pointing game, as both sides are blaming the other side for the strike.

1. Yearbook Make-UpsYearbook photograph make-ups and retakes are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 22. 2. Volunteering OpportunitiesTwo opportunities for community service hours are available. Keep in mind that you need 10 hours before graduation. The first opportunity is this Saturday for Middle School Swimming Championships. Mr. Kelly STRONGLY urges the swimmers and divers to sign up and help out; remember you are their mentors and who they look up to. Any and all help is appreciated. The second opportunity is on October 22nd at the one room schoolhouse. Students are needed to clean up the grounds and help spread mulch. Each hour will be doubled and the more students we have the quicker the work will go. The one room school house will be celebrating its 25th anniversary on the 27th. Please come out and help with this project to beautify our campus and show your Derry Pride. Sign up sheets will be on the counter in the office. 3.
